Flourish at THRIVE

Bourne chiropractor who gets results

Whether you've put up with persistent pain for years or you feel fantastic and want to stay that way, chiropractic may help you. At THRIVE Chiropractic, we love to get patients out of pain and on the path to optimal health. Dr Jo Hibbins is passionate about inspiring those in our amazing community to get the most out of life.

Our mission is to inspire a health revolution in our community. By combining advanced chiropractic and wellness strategies we restore vitality to our patients and their families — a vibrant, inspirational life, lived to its fullest potential, for patients of any age.

Dr Jo set up his Bourne practice by Wellhead Park in 2020. It's a warm and friendly practice: we view our patients as family members we want to visit with.

Recover your health

Every day we see people who have lost their health. A partnership is part of recovering it: “I'll do my bit but you must do yours.” Dr Jo encourages proper nutrition, regular exercise and mindfulness.

A unique protocol

Dr Jo's own technique and assessment protocol identifies and corrects spinal, musculo-skeletal and neurological dysfunction. Every step is explained as you go. If we can't help, we'll get you to someone who can.

Skilled & caring

Empathetic, warm and professional, Dr Jo takes the time to get to know his patients and build rapport and trust, and treats everyone with understanding and compassion.

Meet Dr Jo

Jolyon Hibbins D.C.

Doctor of Chiropractic · BSc (Hons) Chiro · L.C.C.

Dr Jo graduated with honours from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic in 2007 and is registered with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC), the statutory body that regulates chiropractors in the UK.

His areas of interest are functional neurology and the relationship between the spine, brain and nervous system. Outside the practice his passions are his family, chiropractic, clay pigeon shooting and sailing.

“I witnessed a miracle.” His grandmother was told by surgeons she would never walk again without steel braces. After turning to a chiropractor, the braces were off within six months. Dr Jo became a chiropractor to give others the same chance.

“When people come to see me, it is often because they've tried everything else and it hasn't worked… I consider it a privilege to take someone from the depths of despair and guide them towards hope, happiness and a better quality of life.”

The title “Dr” refers to the Doctor of Chiropractic qualification and does not mean a Doctor of Medicine, such as your GP. A chiropractic degree takes five years, with study that includes neurology, immunology and pharmacology.

Chiropractic Care

A focus on the spine and nervous system

If you've been elsewhere for your pain and the results didn't come, we welcome you. We're usually the last hope with the greatest results.

Chiropractic pays particular attention to the spine and nervous system. We look for areas of the spine that have lost proper function — subluxations — and correct them with adjustments: a fast, specific, precise force that restores motion, reduces pain and improves the communication loop between brain and body.

Adjusting styles

  • The Activator® — an instrument that adjusts in about 5–10 milliseconds. Consistent, precise and very gentle.
  • Thompson Drop — for issues between neurologic and structural; speed and recoil.
  • Diversified — a manual technique for more structural issues.

Dr Jo also checks posture and spinal curvature such as scoliosis, then gives simple, effective exercises to do at home.

1

Initial stage

Get you out of pain and correct the problems in your spine.

2

Reconstructive stage

Stabilise the spine while muscles and ligaments strengthen and are given time to do their job.

3

Wellness care

Keep you at your best — not just symptom free, but problem free.

Symptoms

Pain is the alarm bell, not the whole story

Symptoms are your body's attempt to alert you that it's not happy — and the cause often starts long before you notice. Like tooth decay before the toothache, your spine adapts around falls, traumas, poor habits and work stress until it can't compensate any more and lets you know with pain.

Does chiropractic work quickly? Often, yes. We say pain is the last thing to come and the first thing to go — but feeling better isn't always being better. “Pain free does not necessarily mean problem free.”

How do we assess your spine? By function. Symptoms matter, but how your spine is functioning is how we judge your progress.

Conditions we commonly help with

Back pain, neck pain, headaches, joint stiffness, posture-related issues, chronic tension, mobility problems and nerve-related discomfort.

THRIVE Wellness Program

Do well, be well

Our philosophy is a temple of health with chiropractic as the foundation — if the nervous system isn't running optimally, how can anything else? On that foundation stand five pillars:

Nutrition Food intolerance testing and low-pesticide, Paleolithic-style eating.
Supplementation Dr Jo recommends and sells USANA® Health Sciences supplements.
Exercise Dr Jo helps you understand which exercises you should be doing.
Positivity Mindfulness, meditation and managing negative emotional stress.
Sleep Aim for 7–9 high-quality hours a night — it's when your body resets.

Optional testing includes a blood test for inflammatory markers linked to food intolerances, a cortisol check, and a stool sample for gut bacteria. We aim to keep you in the parasympathetic “green zone” (thrive) rather than the “red zone” (survive). Call to book a nutritional consultation.
